FAQs About Dudhsagar Falls Trek Package from Bangalore

How long does it take to reach Dudhsagar Falls from Bangalore?

It takes almost 8 to 12 hours to reach Dudhsagar Falls from Bangalore by road, as the distance between both places is approximately 550 to 600 kilometres. The route includes driving towards Goa and then to Kulem, the starting point of the trek. You can also take a train to Kulem or Castle Rock railway station, which is the other start point of the trek. The total time taken in the journey depends on the route and mode of transport.

From October to May is Dudhsagar trek best time because the weather is cool and pleasant. October to December are the post-monsoon months, and this is the time when the waterfall is in full glory, and the weather is also ideal for trekking. On the other hand, from January to February are winter months, and the trail is less crowded during this time. While the waterfalls are at their peak during monsoon months (june to september), heavy rains increase the challenge and trekking on slippery trails can be risky. From March to May are summer months, and daytime temperature remains warm, but evenings and mornings are cooler.

Yes, trekkers need forest entry permits for the Dudhsagar trek because the trail passes through Bhagwan Mahavir Wildlife Sanctuary. One can easily obtain permits from the forest department office at the base camp. But individuals booking the Dudhsagar Trek Package from us don’t need to worry about this, as we have included permits in the package.

The Dudhsagar trek package cost depends on factors such as the package inclusions, mode of transport, stay type, meals, trek duration, or any special additions. Our package includes expert guides, Bangalore to Bangalore transfers, a trek guide, delicious meals, trekking permits, and a comfortable stay. Use our easy package customisation facilities if you have any specific requirements.

The suitability of the Dudhsagar Falls trek from Bangalore depends on the child’s age and fitness. This trek can be challenging, as it involves walking through rocky terrain. While younger kids might face some challenges, older kids with good physical fitness and who choose the shorter and less demanding route can complete the trek easily.

Yes, trekkers can see trains passing over the Dudhsagar Waterfall. The train passes via a bridge on top of this picturesque cascading waterfall. If you are on the train, then you will be rewarded with the most surreal views of this gushing waterfall from the moving train.

It is not considered safe to go on this trek in the monsoon. The region receives heavy rainfall, resulting in slippery trekking trails and landslides. The streams are also in full flow, making it hard to cross them when trekking. While the waterfalls look most beautiful during these months, it is best to avoid trekking in the monsoon due to safety reasons.

The minimum age requirement for the Dudhsagar Waterfall trek is around 10 to 12 years, and children below 18 must be accompanied by adults (parents or guardians). While there is no maximum age limit to participate in the trek, individuals above 60 must take a fitness test and carry a medical certificate. Consult your doctor before planning the trek and take proper safety precautions.

The Dudhsagar Waterfall is India’s tallest waterfall, cascading down from a height of 310 to 320 meters. The views of this four-tiered waterfall are worth capturing. The water falling from a height looks like milk falling from a height.

While you can easily travel to the Dudhsagar Falls region from Bangalore independently, trekking to Dudhsagar Falls without a local guide is not recommended due to safety reasons. The trail passes through a protected dense forest area, and you need permits and proper knowledge of the trek route. Navigating through the terrain and dealing with wildlife encounters can be challenging for those trekking independently, especially if you are unaware of the trek route. Those booking the Dudhsagar waterfall trek package with us will get experienced guides, ensuring safety, comfort, and a well-organised experience.
